CHEERS! To another 5 years with Optus Stadium

As a WA family owned and operated business, we are so proud and excited to announce our
renewed contract with Optus Stadium.
We have supplied this incredible stadium with sustainable packaging for the past 5 years, and we
are elated to continue this journey for the next 5 years!

Hosting120 footy matches, over 40 cricket matches, 9 concerts including Ed Sheeran, U2 and Red
Hot Chili Peppers, several other events and one MASSIVE Footy Grand Final. We have had our fair
share of excitement and challenges over the years, but we couldn’t be more ready to do it all
again, bigger and better!

Some of our own milestones during our time in contract, have been supplying and transitioning the
Stadium to more sustainable packaging options (Optus Stadium made these moves WAY before the
plastics ban, as part of their effort to become a sustainable venue).
In 2020 we experienced a halt to all things events, and during those tough couple of years, we
managed to work collaboritively with Optus Stadium to ensure that COVID safe packaging was
available for those few events that did go ahead, here in WA.
One of the more recent controversial changes has been the swap to paper cups for all cold and
alcoholic beverages. This has been a strange change for both staff and patrons, however, we feel
we provided a recyclable and compostable paper cup to the stadium, which is also designed to
provide further information to West Australians.
This is just a snippet of the last five years. The challenges and triumphs have been nothing short of a
fantastic experience and relationship.

CHEERS to the next five years!

The Greener Range is the next best thing in paper Beer and Wine cups. Our beer schooners come in a
wrapped double wall and single wall option. The wrapped double wall provides additional insulation and
rigidity. This comes in handy when you’re carrying 3 or more cold beers! Both schooner cups are certified
weights and measures. The wine cup is printed with our green Envirochoice strip design and is
conveniently placed to be a fill line to the 150ml mark.

The switch to paper is a switch to a more sustainable option. The cup itself is made from renewable
sources, contains no plastic and has the capability to be recycled AND composted. At Envirochoice, our
new Greener Range is certified to Flustix Plastic Free Product Mark. Whilst the AS 4736 – 2006 is the
accepted standard in Australia, the product can still contain bioplastic, which is considered to be a form
of plastic. Flustix Plastic Free Product certification does not allow the product to even contain bioplastics.
Flustix plastic free product certification is new to Australians and is ahead of its time in this market.

This cup can be sold in Western Australia and is an appropriate solution. There is a valid exemption on this
product provided by DWER, as we await Australian Certification.
PLA is usually the traditional plastic replacement as it looks and feels the same as a normal plastic
cup. So why not just use a PLA cup? PLA, although made from corn starch, acts the same as
traditional plastic if it ends up as litter in the environment. It takes the same amount of time to break
down. PLA is not a recyclable material. It looks and feels like plastic, and can cause confusion for
consumers. Any PLA that is put in the recycling waste stream contaminates it, risking the quality of the
recycled content, and potentially sending the waste it is in, to landfill.

This is why the Greener Range is the right choice, the disposal options ensure no wrong choice is
made and your waste is diverted from landfill!
